Palacios Community Medical Center
Palacios Community Medical Center (PCMC) is indeed a community-owned hospital. The hospital first opened in 1961 as Wagner General Hospital. It was renamed Palacios Community Medical Center in 2002. The board of directors of both the Foundation and the hospital are from Palacios and the surrounding area. The hospital is a 17-bed acute care hospital with Outpatient/Inpatient Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy and In-House Pharmacy. It also offers 24-hour Emergency Room Service.

PCMC is pleased to announce that Laurie Hulsman, D. O. will begin seeing patients at the Palacios Medical Community Medical Center. PCMC Lab is recognized for quality laboratory services!
Congratulations to Dr. Richard Johnston, Laboratory Director; Holly Claybourn, Laboratory Manager; and their staff, including Angie Yeager and Gracie Negrete!
The PCMC Laboratory has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. They were deficiency-free! The PCMC Lab has earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long-term commitment to provide quality service to our patients. The lab also received this accreditation in 2007. It is awarded every two years.
